Asana Appoints Dan Rogers as New CEO Amid AI Expansion
Software company Asana has named Dan Rogers, former ServiceNow executive and current CEO of LaunchDarkly, as its new chief executive effective July 21. Rogers replaces co-founder Dustin Moskovitz, who transitions to board chairman after 16 years leading the productivity platform.
The leadership change coincides with Asana's strategic push into artificial intelligence tools, which generated over $1 million in annualized revenue last quarter. Rogers will receive a $650,000 base salary plus $35 million in restricted stock units to steer the company through this growth phase.
Moskovitz, who co-founded both Asana and Facebook parent Meta Platforms, built the company with notable austerity—taking just $1 in annual compensation despite an $11 billion net worth. His successor brings enterprise software expertise from senior roles at ServiceNow, Amazon, Microsoft, and Salesforce.
